Image Enhancement Policy

Stagi helps agents present clean, consistent visuals while protecting buyers from misleading depictions. This policy applies to all images created with Stagi and forms part of our Terms of Service.

Legal Disclaimer & Liability

By using Stagi, its services, or any generated imagery, you acknowledge, understand, and expressly agree that Stagi (Pty) Ltd, its directors, employees, contractors, partners, and representatives shall in no way be held liable for any loss, damage, injury, expense, or claim (direct, indirect, consequential, or incidental) arising from or in connection with the use of its platform, outputs, or related materials—howsoever caused and whether in contract, delict, negligence, or otherwise.

This includes, but is not limited to, any alleged misrepresentation, omission, or reliance on AI-generated images by agents, clients, purchasers, or third parties. All use of generated content is undertaken entirely at the user’s own risk.

Stagi makes no warranties or guarantees, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, realism, or fitness for any particular purpose of generated images. The user accepts full and exclusive responsibility for ensuring that all representations made to clients or potential purchasers comply with the Property Practitioners Act (formerly Estate Agency Affairs Act), the Code of Conduct of the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA), the Consumer Protection Act, and all other applicable laws and regulations.

The user alone is responsible for any image they upload, generate, send, publish, or distribute via the Stagi platform or by any other means. By submitting or distributing an image to clients or third parties, the user agrees that they accept full legal responsibility and liability for its content and any outcomes thereof, and that Stagi is fully indemnified against any claims, losses, damages, or proceedings of any nature arising therefrom.

Under no circumstances shall Stagi, its directors, employees, or affiliates be liable to any party for any claim exceeding the total amount paid by that user for the specific transaction from which the claim arose (if any).

1) Allowed Enhancements

  • Exposure/colour balance; perspective/lens correction; noise reduction.
  • Minor retouching (remove small scuffs/marks, straighten frames, clear small clutter).
  • Virtual staging & style packs affecting décor, furniture, finishes, and lighting mood only.

2) Prohibited Alterations

  • Structural changes: adding/removing/moving walls, ceilings, beams, windows, doors, built-in cabinetry/sanitaryware, or altering room sizes.
  • Changing views, neighbourhood context, or site features to imply a different location or amenities.
  • Hiding or disguising material defects that would mislead a reasonable buyer.

3) Conditional (with Disclosure)

  • Greener lawns/sky replacement/seasonal changes if naturalistic and non-structural.
  • Virtual furniture/finishes if the listing clearly discloses “virtually staged”.

4) Prompt Safety Rule

Prompts must explicitly preserve the original structure and camera perspective (no moving/adding/removing doors, windows, walls). We implement automated checks and may block or flag risky prompts.

5) Recommended Disclosure

“Some images are virtually staged to illustrate décor options. Structural features (walls, windows, doors) are unchanged. For accurate details please arrange a viewing.”

6) Copyright

You must have the rights or permissions to upload original images. By uploading, you grant Stagi a non-exclusive, limited licence to process and reproduce the images solely for the purpose of delivering the requested outputs. You retain ownership of your original works.

7) Enforcement

Stagi reserves the right to remove content, suspend accounts, or refuse service where any activity is suspected to breach this policy, our Terms of Service, or applicable legislation (including but not limited to the Consumer Protection Act (Act 68 of 2008), the Property Practitioners Act (Act 22 of 2019), or the PPRA Code of Conduct).
